We went swimming off a beach (that we thought we had found) near the golf course at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel and my husband lost his rental car keys in the beautiful waves! He also sliced his thumb open on a lava rock. As we were walking thru the golf course looking for a phone, one of the workers gave us a ride to the Fairmont Orchid hotel lobby which was like heaven! They treated us like royalty, giving my daughter a candy lei immediately and allowing us to use a house phone to call for our keys. They even gave us cold water to drink! The rental place came with a new rental car and towed away the old one. They would not even take a tip…..What sould have been a lousy day, turned out to be one of the best days of our visit to the island…We’ve gone back every other year and will be in Oahu this July! Only in Hawaii can this happen and you still keep smiling!!!!!!
