There’s the potential for adventure nearly everywhere on Hawaii Island. You can backpack to the remote summit of a volcano, scuba dive at night with manta rays, fly a helicopter, test yourself against deep-sea fighting fish, camp within sight of an erupting cinder cone, hunt for feral pigs, kayak along rugged coastlines—even explore pitch-black caves formed eons ago by lava flows.
