Wailoa River State Recreation Area

Wailoa River State Recreation Area surrounds the Waiakea Pond and stretches along the banks of the Wailoa River right in downtown Hilo. This large, open grassy area with a pavilion and small picnic shelters is a great spot to take a run, have a picnic or throw a Frisbee.
